Rackmount & Industrial Cases
Rackmount cases are used mainly for servers and industrial applications. Its advantages include rigid structure and space-saving.
Most rack mount cases are 19" in width. The height is measured in "U". Each "U" means 1.75". Therefore, 2U means 3.50". The standard thickness is 4U, typically allowing three 5.25" bays and one 3.5" bay. The small-U units allow installation of computers with the smallest space. The depth of rack-mount cases can vary, typically at 21.3" and 24.4".
